Verified owners

Every owner is ID-checked before a single listing goes live. You can see their rating, review count and history from past renters, so you know who you're dealing with.

ID verification

Owners verify their identity with government ID at sign-up. Renters with a verified profile build trust faster and unlock instant-book gear.

Verified payments

Every bank slip is reviewed by our team and matched against the money that actually lands. No gear changes hands until a payment is confirmed — never on a promise.

Refundable deposits

A security deposit is held separately on every rental and released in full within 48 hours of a clean return. If damage is disputed, our team reviews the photos and decides fairly.

Secure messaging

Talk to owners and renters inside MGR, where there's always a record. Keeping conversations on-platform protects both sides if a question ever comes up.

Anti-fraud checks

We automatically flag duplicate slips, reused references and amounts that don't match the booking — catching fraud before it reaches you or an owner.

Duplicate slip detection

If the same transfer slip is submitted twice — for a different booking, or by a different person — our system catches it. A slip can only confirm the rental it actually belongs to.

Amount & reference matching

Every slip's amount, bank and reference are checked against the booking total, including the deposit. A figure that's short, padded or pointing at the wrong account is flagged for manual review.

Human review on every payment

Software flags the suspicious ones, but a person confirms the genuine ones. That human step is why almost every honest slip clears in under four hours and the bad ones don't slip through.

Deposits & damage, handled fairly

The refundable deposit is the safety net for genuine loss or damage — never normal wear like a scuff or sand in the bag. We always recommend a quick condition photo at handover; it's the simplest way to keep the return check honest for everyone.

When there's a dispute

If an owner and renter can't agree on damage, MGR reviews the handover and return photos, weighs both accounts, and makes a fair call. Your deposit stays protected with us while we look into it — it's never released to anyone prematurely.

Stay safe: never pay off-platform

Always transfer to the MGR account shown on your booking and upload the slip there. If anyone — owner or stranger — asks you to pay to a different account, send cash off-platform, or move the conversation to a private number before booking, stop and report it. Genuine owners never need you to bypass MGR.

How to report a problem

If something feels wrong, tell us — fast

    Find your rental code (e.g. FARU-7K2D) — it's on your booking and every related message.

  2. 2

    Message us on WhatsApp at +960 777-0420 or email hello@mgr.mv with the code and what happened.

  3. 3

    Attach anything useful — a screenshot of the message, a photo of the gear, the slip in question.

  4. 4

    We investigate, keep your deposit protected while we do, and act on anything that breaks our rules.
